Adam M. Kleinman
Adam M. Kleinman is GECC’s Chief Compliance Officer, as well as the President and Chief Operating Officer of GEG and GECM. Prior to joining Great Elm, Mr. Kleinman was a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at a Boston-based registered investment adviser from 2009 to 2017. From 2004 to 2009, Mr. Kleinman was an Associate in the Banking and Leveraged Finance group at Bingham McCutchen LLP where he represented leading financial institutions, hedge funds and corporate borrowers in a broad range of commercial finance transactions, including syndicated debt financings, asset-based credit facilities and domestic and international debt workouts and restructurings. Mr. Kleinman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Haverford College in 1997 with a BA in History and received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004.

Jason W. Reese
Jason W. Reese is 54 years old and has been Executive Co-Chairman of our Board of Directors since February 2020. Mr. Reese is the Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Capital Asset Management, LLC and the Co-Founder and Executive Committee Member of Imperial Capital, LLC, both founded in 1997. Imperial Capital Asset Management is a registered investment advisor that manages or has managed various hedge funds, investment partnerships, a private REIT and a private equity fund. Imperial Capital, LLC is a registered broker-dealer. Combined, the Imperial Capital Group companies employ approximately 200 employees. Prior to Imperial Capital, Mr. Reese was a principal with Gordon Investment Corporation, a merchant banking firm in New York and Dallas, where he focused on investing in distressed real estate transactions, high yield securities and leveraged buyouts. Prior to Gordon, Mr. Reese worked in the Corporate Finance Group at PaineWebber in New York. Mr. Reese graduated with honors from Yale University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Mr. Reese brings to our Board of Directors investment expertise and extensive experience in capital markets.

Michael P. Keller
Michael P. Keller has been President of Great Elm Specialty Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GECC, since November 2021. Prior to joining Great Elm, Mr. Keller was previously a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Credit Value Partners, LLC where he oversaw the company’s Direct Lending and Investment Platform. Previously, Mr. Keller was a member of CapitalSource Finance’s senior management team where he led many different areas including head of the Restructuring Group where he was responsible for the management of the Company’s stressed loan portfolio, including Cash Flow, ABL and Real Estate Loans. He also oversaw CapitalSource’s special situation lending initiatives and spearheaded a $300 million opportunistic credit fund. Prior to this, Mr. Keller headed up restructuring efforts for the $1.8 billion Healthcare Finance Division of FINOVA on behalf of Berkadia, LLC; a joint venture between Berkshire Hathaway and Leucadia National Corporation. Mr. Keller has also held various senior, financial/investment positions at PNC Bank and Household International. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
